Bradford Hotels
The University of Bradford is an offshoot of the Bradford Schools of Weaving, Design and Building which started in 1860 and grew into The Bradford Technical College in 1882. In 1963, The Bradford College of Advanced Technology began its building phase starting with the construction of The Richmond Building. Later, The Horton Building and the Chesham Building were constructed facing each other on Richmond Road.
The current University of Richmond which was begun in 1966 is home to many international students. It has a huge number of students from Moslem countries. The University of Bradford draws international students mainly because in 1973, the first Department of Peace Studies was established. The unversity’s interest in political matters started with its first chancellor Harold Wilson, who was then also the Prime Minister of England. The City of Bradford has developed a transport system in addition to the rail system that services large English cities. Bradford, England, is a heavily populated area. The census taken there in 2001 showed a population of 293, 717 people. It is ranked as the thirteenth largest city in the United Kingdom. As part of its traditions, Bradford, is home to the Bradford Bulls, a rugby league. The Bradford Bulls won the World Club Championship three times since 2002. They have won the Rugby Football League Championship seven time. The sporting arena where they play and where they are based is The Grattan Stadium located in south Bradford. There are other rugby union clubs that use the The Richard Dunn Sports Centre that is located close to the University of Bradford. Sports takes a close running head in popularity and in attracting tourists to Bradford as does the University of Bradford.
