There is a small airport located within Hawarden and also in Chester but the closest Internation airport would be Manchester which is approximately 35 miles away.

There are quite a few nice hotels in the Hawarden area. The De Vere St. Davids Park Hotel is one of the nicest. It is a modern 4 star property that has an indoor pool, sauna, steamroom, and also a jacuzzi. It also has a restaurant and bar.

The Beaufort Park Hotel is in the town of Mold and is about 3 miles away from Hawarden. This hotel offers free wifi to its guests. It is conveniently located near the historic section of the town of Chester.

There is a Doubletree by Hilton located in Chester as well. It is surrounded by 12 acres of landscaped gardens. It is a restored 18th century manorhouse.

There is a 5 star Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester too. This hotel was completely refurbished in 2006 and features an amazing club level floor. The Crowne Plaza has an indoor pool, spa, health club, lounge, concierge, sauna, restaurant and coffee shop.

If you stay in Liverpool, then you can stay at the Hard Days Night Hotel. This hotel has a Beatles theme and opened in 2008. It is adjacent to the Cavern Club where the Beatle’s began their career. There is free wifi here and definitely ask for a room with a view of the city of Liverpool.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Just about every hotel has their own facilities and you can eat or drink at any of them.

The name, Holywell, is derived from one of the town’s most popular tourist attraction, the famous St. Winefride’s Holy Well, which is one of the seven wonders of Wales. The town of Holywell is a peaceful and tranquil place, that has a shopping centre, as a focal point for both locals and tourists.

John Lennon Airport is the closest airport to the Holywell area. Other nearby airports are the Manchester Airport, Blackpool Airport and the Caernarfon Airport. Major railways servicing Holywell is Flint Railway station, Runcorn Railway Station in Liverpool and the Liverpool Lime Street Rail Station.

The town of Flint is lined with pubs and cafes and is well known for these establishments. If you are staying anywhere near Flint you should definitely plan to spend time going Pub hopping.

There are a few hotels in the town of Flint that are really quite nice. The first one is the Mountain Park Hotel. This hotel is charming and private. It has a great 12 hole golf course on site. No need to go offsite to play golf. The Mountain Park Hotel also has a Thai restaurant and a bar. Even though it is a Thai restaurant they serve english meals too.

The Soughton Hall Hotel is another option. This is a elegant boutique style hotel and it is perfect for weddings and parties, as well as the discerning business traveller. The Springfield Hotel is also in Flint and it has a restaurant, a bar, and an indoor pool. Golf can be arranged if you so desire directly through the hotel.

The Halkyn Travelodge Hotel is located just south of the center of town. This hotel has a restaurant located right next door and it also offers free parking. It is perfect for business or leisure travellers. This is a good location as it is close to the Pubs and Restaurants.
